April 4 & 5 performing Luigi Jannuzzi’s “Comedies On The Edge.” This show consists of four one act plays of which two have never been produced! Featuring local actors: George Kopf, Richard Paré, Nancy Painter, Deborah Tom, Sarah Mendenhall, Sheri-lynn Lewis and Heather Guthrie-Sheane director Jacqollyne Keath is thrilled to have this opportunity. In the first Act a man, frustrated by life, arrives at the edge between life and death only to be met by another man who has lived at the edge most of his life in "The Bench at the Edge". Will the man make a dive over the edge or will he find a reason to carry on with life? In the second Act three short vignettes happen. The first vignette is “Rehearsing Till We Get It,” which is set in a cemetery with two women and a juggler. The second vignette “The Appointment” is a popular comedy about Mr. Toemeali who has a 3 o'clock appointment with God. In the waiting room he becomes upset when he meets two women who also have three o'clock appointments. Toemeali, a hot-head, begins trying to manipulate God's receptionist but only manages to miss God. He is left to deal with himself in the waiting room. This is a funny & insightful play. The third vignette “I Can’t Live Without You” takes place has a visit with the Grim Reaper himself. The shows are of the Theatre in the Absurd genre and challenge us philosophically about life and death. Just how close is that edge? Attend the play and find out! |
